Episode 49 // Lyndsey Sullivan of The Field House
This week on the podcast we’re in Vian, Oklahoma (pop. 1,466) talking with Lyndsey Sullivan, who recently opened a lifestyle gym called The Field House. She’s sharing how she brought what had been a dream in her heart for over five years to life by restoring a vacant building on main street.
Typically a gym membership is thought of as a luxury item that can only be found in a city, but Lyndsey’s shifting that mindset in her rural town by offering affordable price points and educating members that her gym is an all-around healthy lifestyle option - and her community is really embracing it. You’ll love not only what Lyndsey is doing with her business, but what she’s doing for her town!
There’s huge lake traffic through Vian. So we need new businesses to sustain this traffic coming through. Sometimes the traffic comes before the businesses, and so we’re trying to plan but keep things in perspective at the same time and not overdo ourselves. We know there’s really good things in the future and our businesses alone and the people supporting it has proven that hopefully other businesses will get inspired and come to town.
