Episode 111 // Amy Smith and Cynthia Sarver of Textile Revival
We are soooo excited to kick off the podcast for 2021 and could not have picked a better interview to kick off the year! Today we’re talking with artist Amy Smith and fashion designer Cyndi Sarver of Textile Revival in Leipers Fork, Tennessee (pop. 650). Amy and Cyndi are working together to create wearable art through their one-of-a-kind pieces. They’re sharing about their business journey, their creative process and how they make their partnership work, and how they’re breaking the boundaries and doing things their own way. And let’s just say, if you are a creative, you are going to LOVE this episode!!
It’s just all about being confident in our path and knowing that we’re right where we should be right now. There’s a lot of comfort in knowing that.
— Amy Smith
We try to do it right, but right’s not our way all the time. We kinda just do our way. We’ve worked together long enough to know.
— Cyndi Sarver
We’ve surrounded ourselves intentionally with really good people and supportive people. Our community of friends and family has really helped us.
— Amy Smith
Let’s do something with no boundaries. Let’s produce something that we love, not what can we do for you. Because that takes the fun out of it, takes all the creativity out of it.
— Cyndi Sarver
We started small and smart and in a way we could handle it and in a way it felt right to us.
— Amy Smith
